History of this blog

2024 January~

I first posted articles using dev.to and medium and launched a portfolio website hosted on Netlify as a static site using Hugo.

2025 January~

With changes to hugo which broke my portfolio website, I migrated my personal website to a HugoBlox theme rather than refactoring the site to work with the new version of hugo. I considered building out a custom hugo theme or a nextjs blog template (using technologies I'm somewhat familiar with) but nextjs is arguably overkill for a simple blog. Either way, I've wanted a self-hosted blog for a while to keep track of my learning and experience, and practice my writing skills. I decided to stick with this theme I found mostly for it's simple UI and ease of use.
